Droptext

Instagram transcript

Most “Instagram transcript” pages want a public URL. That fails on saved drafts, private clips, and anything Instagram will not serve to a scraper. Droptext starts after you already have the file.

Transcribe a file

When a link tool is the wrong tool

Link-based generators only see public posts. They also copy the media through a third party. If you are transcribing your own draft, a client’s private export, or a screen recording of a Story, there is no stable public URL.

Droptext is the other path: you already exported the clip, so the site does not need to impersonate an Instagram client.

A clean transcript workflow

  • Export or save the video (mp4, mov, webm) or the audio (mp3, wav, m4a).
  • Drop it on the plate. If it is longer than two minutes, trim the first two minutes there.
  • Choose a language if you know it. Auto is fine for a single speaker.
  • Copy the text or save a .txt next to the original file.

What this is not

It does not download Instagram for you, does not write SRT into CapCut, and does not keep a library of old transcripts on the server. The upload exists long enough to run speech-to-text.

Questions

Is this an official Instagram feature?

No. Droptext is independent. Instagram, Meta, and Apple do not sponsor it.

Will you store my Reel?

No media archive. The file is processed to make text and is not kept as a library.
